Adiantum pedatum - Maidenhair 

This fern has light green feather-like fronds. It is suitable for around ponds and streams, corners of beds, or in woodland gardens. It prefers part sun to full shade with rich moist soil. It can reach a height to 1-1&1/2 feet.

  

 

Adiantum venustum - Nepalese Maidenhair 

This adiantum variety has tear drop shaped leaf petals. Very lacey looking; it will often stay evergreen/bronze where snow and frost are light.

 

Athyrium nipponicum 'Metallicum'                                   Japanese Painted Fern
The painted fern is a vigorous growing, graceful weeping fern that has wine-red stems with silver variegated foliage. It is easy to grow and prefers part sun to full shade with moist, well drained soil. It can reach a height of 1-1&1/2 feet.

Polystichum setiferum - Alaska FernThe

This fern is an evergreen perennial and is one of the easiest to grow. It can reach 4-5 feet across. It prefers partial shade to full shade in moist well drained soil. It is also excellent in fresh flower arrangements. 

 

Matteuccia struthiopteris n/a

Truly a bog plant; this is one of the most attractive of the ferns. It can reach a height of 3 - 5 ft with feathery fronds  around a woody crown. This is an extra hardy, extremely tough fern that spreads by means of it’s underground rhizomes.  This fern prefers to be planted in a moist to wet semi sunny location.

Osmunda regalis - Royal fern n/a

The Royal Fern requires plenty of space as it can reach a height of between 4-6 ft. and the fern has smaller spore bearing fronds that have a flower like appearance which isn’t normal for ferns as ferns don’t flower.It prefers to be planted in full sun to partial shade in a lime free soil.
